| Electric
Lemonade Recipe From Inner
City Blues |
 |
One
of the themes in INNER CITY BLUES that I loved developing
was the meaning of the word "blue." Of course,
there's the Marvin
Gaye song that I used for the title, the LAPD's concept
of a "thin blue line," and others you'll discover
for yourself when you read the book.

One of the more tasty uses of the concept of blue is the
cocktail Charlotte drinks early in the novel — Electric
Lemonade. I wasn't able to squeeze in (no pun intended)
the recipe when I was writing INNER CITY BLUES, so I was
very grateful to Jo Grossman and Robert Weibezahl for including
it in their cookbook anthology A
TASTE OF MURDER.

I reprint it here for you to enjoy. . .carefully!
And if any of you have enhancements you think are worth
sharing, let us know.
